Vice President

Russ has recently joined CISIWU as a new board member 2024, he has over 40 years of experience in the Oil and Gas, construction industry. Russ brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his role as Vice President, he has worked as an apprentice, tradesperson, supervisor, and senior manager on multiple major projects in Canada and the United states.

Responsibilities

As the Vice President, Russ Timmons is responsible for:

The Vice-President is the President’s Assistant. Vice-Presidents perform the duties of the President in the absence of the President. Vice-Presidents usually chair some committees. In addition, Vice-Presidents usually chair executive board meetings so that the President has more opportunity to take part in the meetings.
In addition to the standard duties, CISIWU has given Vice-Presidents responsibility for other important duties, for example, membership communications, union education, community outreach, equality issues, representing specific groups of members, etc.
The Vice President will also act on assigned committees as directed by the union board.
